New Construction: Teaching Swimming Pool, Stäfa

Seahorse

Even Goethe was apparently keen on learning how to swim. He believed that in the water, he could live in harmony with nature, breaking free of 18th-century social conventions. Thus, he designed a swim belt made of cork and taught himselfto swim, allegedly maturing into a fantastic swimmer. Later, when he spent a whole month in Stäfa during his third Swisstrip in 1797, he supposedly also went for frequent swims in Lake Zurich. All the more reason to build a new teaching pool in Stäfa. Such a pool should be inviting, with a light-filled and airy atmosphere that sparks interest in swimming lessons. Water is a sensual medium. With skillful design choices, it allows us to create a very special place, which will provideadded value to the residents of Stäfa. These spirits must be awakened to create an understated but refined space where people will want to go again and again.
