A new building and the remodeled Brahmshaus will house the high school level of the Rudolf Steiner School Zurich. The new construction fits in with the heights of the adjacent buildings on Plattenstrasse and deliberately plays with the character of a studio building. Delicate glass elements and a studio window in the attic lend the building a distinct identity. On the lower building level, the slightly offset courtyard structure creates nuanced, garden-like outdoor spaces. In keeping with the character of the neighborhood, the space in between provides a variety of sight lines and greenery. The sophisticated volumetric structure thus enters into a dialogue with the neighborhood.
